Seth Shteir brings a wealth of experience to the AmeriCorps program. Before joining the Montana State Parks’ team, Seth worked for the National Park Conservancy Association and the Great Basin Institute. He’s conducted research and policy analysis on conservation issues, he oversaw an AmeriCorps team at Joshua Tree National Park, and has experience bringing together diverse interests to build consensus on conservation and stewardship issues. Seth has a strong commitment to community engagement.

Our members serve at state parks and regional offices across the state of Montana. As a Montana State Parks AmeriCorps member, you will likely spend time:

  • Bringing lessons to life for children as you help strengthen Montana State Parks as an outdoor classroom
  • Honing your interpretive skills as you develop a trail guide, interpretive sign or give a campfire presentation
  • Instilling a sense of stewardship in local community members as you organize volunteer events and promote volunteer opportunities
  • Undergoing the experience of a lifetime as you share your skills and abilities with Montana State Parks, the local community and the nation through AmeriCorps
