Craig Putchat grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania, and graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin with a degree in Outdoor Education and Outdoor Writing. Since college Craig has done many things, most notably, for the past 15 years, owned and operated a sport shop, rental lodge, and charter fishing business on Lake Superior.
