Bring Your Family to "Bannack Days 2013" at Bannack State Park - Saturday and Sunday - July 20 and 21
(Helena, MT) Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) invites the public to join us for “Bannack Days” an annual, special event at Bannack State Park near Dillon, Montana.
Bring your family for a fun-filled weekend to see this old ghost town come alive in a celebration of pioneer life. This year, the annual Bannack Days Festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 20 and 21 starting at 9am each day.
Many visitors like to dress in period costumes to get into the spirit of things. Come see what the old west was really like!
Activities include: horse and wagon rides, shootout re-enactments, gold panning, and candle making. Guests can also enjoy cowboy poetry and old time music and check out a mountain men camp, Doc Hall’s Medicine show, the Great Debate on women’s suffrage, and a 1800s U. S. Cavalry camp. There is something for everyone, along with plenty of food and drinks.
The stagecoach from Virginia City will be arriving at 1 p.m. on Sunday. (Come and see this fun stagecoach re-enactment: Rumor has it that Governor Edgerton and other dignitaries will be aboard along with a big gold shipment.)
Saturday schedule: 9am to 5pm
Sunday schedule: 9am to 4:30pm
(schedule of activities can be found online at http://stateparks.mt.gov/calendar/ )
Sunday is a great day to visit as the crowds are smaller and we offer old time church services, blacksmithing and the stage holdup on Sunday only.
**Visitors are asked to carpool if possible, as parking is limited.
There is a special event fee of $5 per car to help cover the cost of this event. This fee will apply to resident and non-resident vehicles. Bannack State Park staff asks that you PLEASE DO NOT BRING PETS TO THIS BUSY EVENT
