Volunteer for 'National Public Lands Day' at Thompson Chain of Lakes - Satuday, September 28 at 9am
(Kalispell, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today:
What: Volunteer for a National Public Lands Day “Lop and Limb Project” at Thompson Chain of Lakes.
Do you enjoy the Thompson Chain of Lakes? The 3,000 acres of Thompson Chain of Lakes are enjoyed by wildlife, fishermen, campers, and other recreationists.
Montana State Parks is celebrating National Public Lands Day (http://www.publiclandsday.org/) and is asking for the public to help trim vegetation along the ACM road. This road provides the public access to backsides of Lower and Middle Thompson, as well as to the Thompson River Conservation Easement.
We will lop, limb, trim and haul brush until noon.
Bring work gloves and water. Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable, study shoes.
Pack a sack lunch and enjoy your public lands after a morning of volunteer work!
When: Saturday, September 28, 9am-Noon
Where: Meet at Logan State Park

The Thompson Chain of Lakes is a 3,000 acre site that includes McGregor Lake, Lower, Middle and Upper Thompson Lakes, Horseshoe Lake and Loon Lake, as well as a few others. The site provides visitors with many different recreational opportunities ranging from camping and fishing to swimming and boating. Thompson Chain of Lakes is located half-way between Kalispell and Libby along US Hwy 2.
National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands.
