Montana State Parks Celebrates 20th Annual Day of Honor Event At Chief Plenty Coups State Park -Saturday, August 30, starting at 9am
(Billings, MT) –Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host the 20th Annual Day of Honor Event and celebrate Montana State Parks' 75th Anniversary at Chief Plenty Coups State Park on Saturday, August 30 starting at 9 am.
The event will feature speakers Chas Van Genderen, Director of Montana State Parks; Darrin Old Coyote, Chairman of the Crow Tribe; and Crow elder Grant Bulltail. A free buffalo feed will take place in the afternoon and the day will conclude with a movie in the park. Many presentations will be taking place throughout the day including talks on the Pryor Mountain wild horses, Chief Plenty Coups' genealogy, the Chief's sacred spring, Crow horse culture, and tipi demonstrations.
