Smith River State Park Reopens to Floaters

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks ( announced today that Smith River State Park and the river corridor has reopened effective Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The state park had been temporarily closed since April 3, 2018 for public safety reasons. Individuals with float dates during the closure period or who were unsuccessful in the 2018 permit drawing may call the Smith River Reservation and Information Line at (406) 454-5861 to request any remaining launch dates or cancelled permits. The call line is open Monday through Friday from 8am to Noon.

Montana State Parks would like to thank the public for their patience during the closure.
