National Kids to Parks Day at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park - Saturday, May 19 from 10am to 1pm

(Ulm, MT) –Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) in celebration of National Kids to Parks Day will host Traditional Native Games at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park on Saturday, May 19 from 10am to 1pm.

Traditional native games were an important part of tribal culture during the time which First Peoples Buffalo Jump was used for the hunting of buffalo. Join park staff and volunteers to learn more about these games and play them yourself. All ages invited. Games offered may include shinny, double ball, kickball, Run and Scream, as well as others. Indoor games will be offered if the weather is bad.

NPT Kids to Parks Day (KTP Day) is a national day of outdoor play designed to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks. By discovering our public lands, kids across the country are learning about park stewardship, outdoor recreation, STEM, and history. Through teaching the next generation to appreciate our public lands, NPT is working to foster future park enthusiasts and create the next generation of park stewards.
