Makoshika State Park Summer Youth Program: “Backbone Bonanza” -Thursday, June 14 from 9:30-11:30 am
(Glendive, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host the Summer Youth Program Backbone Bonanza at Makoshika State Park on Thursday, June 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Kids ages 7-13 are invited to join us for Backbone Bonanza. All animals with a backbone are called vertebrates. The backbone is made of interlocking units call vertebrae. This backbone, along with other bones, make up part of the internal skeleton present in all vertebrates. In this program students will learn what vertebrates are and how to tell the difference between then and invertebrates through outdoor activities.
Please have participants bring a water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen and dress appropriately for the weather. Kids will meet at the park pavilion. Due to liability issues, we must have at least one additional adult (in addition to our instructors) per 10 participants. We strongly encourage parents to sign up for a program to share in these fun learning experiences.
Program schedules and registration forms are available at the visitor center. For information call (406) 377-6256.
