Makoshika State Park Summer Youth Program: “Predator and Prey” -Thursday, July 26 from 9:30-11:30am

(Glendive, MT) – Montana State Parks ( will host the Summer Youth Program “Predator and Prey” at Makoshika State Park on Thursday, July 26 from 9:30am to 11:30am.

Kids ages 7-13 are invited to enjoy a morning of learning about nature, as we present “Predator and Prey”.  Predators and prey evolve together.  Over time prey animals develop adaptations to help them avoid being eaten and predators develop strategies to make them more effective at catching their prey. Students will watch a video and participate in interactive games to help them understand which animals are predators, which are prey, and the important role they both play.

Participants should bring a water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen and dress appropriately for the weather. Please meet at the Visitor Center.  Due to liability issues we must have at least one additional adult (in addition to our instructors) per 10 participants.  We strongly encourage parents to sign up for a program to share in these interesting and fun learning experiences. Program schedules and registration forms are available at the Makoshika State Park Visitor Center.
