Tentative Biennial Fee Rule

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is seeking public comment on the tentative Biennial Fee Rule that sets state park fees and associated rules for 2013 and 2014. The Biennial Fee Rule includes: • No fee increases. • A $3 per night reduction is proposed in the off-season camping fee for residents. The reduction recognizes some services and conveniences may be limited in the off season—for example potable water. • Peak season and the campsite reservation program season are proposed to be extended earlier to include the third Friday in May and later to include the third Sunday of September. • Check-in and check-out times for campsites, cabins, yurts and tipis have been specified more clearly. • Campsite capacity is specified more clearly. • Rules are proposed for food storage in state parks at a few key locations in bear habitat. • Proposed livestock rules call for certified weed-seed free feed.
