Draft Environmental Assessment for 'North Shore Trail Relocation - Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project' - Giant Springs State Park

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that public comment is being sought on an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the ‘North Shore Trail Relocation Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Project’. This project includes the proposed relocation of the North Shore Trail located on the Lewis & Clark Heritage Greenway Conservation Easement near Great Falls, Montana. The Greenway is located on land owned by PPL Montana and is managed as part of Giant Springs State Park. The relocation project is designed primarily as a safety improvement to remove pedestrian and bicycle use from PPL Montana’s gravel administrative road (connecting their hydroelectric facilities in the area) to a new trail location that will be developed in the adjacent grasslands area.
