(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today is seeking public comment on Off-Highway Vehicle Program (OHV) grant applications for the current grant cycle which closed on February 1, 2018. The OHV program has approximately $115,000 available and received 12 grant applications totaling over $185,000 in project requests. Public comment will be accepted through Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 5pm. The Montana State Parks Off-Highway Vehicle Program is funded through appropriations from the State Legislature. These funds come from 1/8 of 1% of the state gas tax, registration decal fees, and non-resident permit fees. The OHV Program relies on partnerships between private clubs and public land management agencies and is assisted in grant decision-making by the Off-Highway Vehicle Advisory Committee (OHVAC), which consists of OHV users and land managers.
