AmeriCorps members earn an Education Award of between $1,415 and $5,350 per term of service towards a college education or to pay off student loans. Members who are 55 years or older can transfer the Education Award to a child, grandchild or foster child. All Montana State Parks AmeriCorps members will receive a modest living allowance to help cover incidental costs, such as commuting. Members can range in age from young adults to retirement, but all members must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and some college is preferred.
Montanans as well as those who live out of state are encouraged to apply. The program does not provide housing. Members are responsible for finding housing and covering relocation expenses on their own, if applicable.

About AmeriCorps
Founded in 1993, AmeriCorps is a national service program that engages Americans in intensive service to meet the nation's critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment.
Each year, AmeriCorps offers 50,000 opportunities, nationwide, for adults of all ages and backgrounds to serve through a network of partnerships with local and national nonprofit groups. Whether your service makes a community safer, gives a child a second chance, or helps protect the environment, you'll be getting things done through AmeriCorps!
AmeriCorps is funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, an independent federal agency and administered in Montana, through the Governor's Office of Community Service.
