

Montana State Parks, in collaboration with the public, is developing a management plan to address challenges and sustainable operations at Cooney State Park. Scoping meetings were held in August 2010 helped identify public ideas and visions for the future. After incorporating public feedback and agency input, Montana State Parks prepared a draft management plan that proposes future management actions. The public was invited to respond to the Draft Plan during February 2012. The final plan will be available in Spring 2012. This web page is intended to provide planning information, meeting times and locations, and a means for the public to communicate electronically.
Montana State Parks released the Draft Plan in February 2012. The plan focuses on visitor services, operations and maintenance, recreation opportunities, resource conservation, and education efforts for the next decade.
The Draft Plan is available electronically by clicking the link below. Public comment was solicited from February 10 to March 2, and was accompanied by two open houses in the Billings area. The public comment period is now closed. For more information about the open houses and public comments, see Related Materials below. The final plan will be available in Spring 2012.
