

This volunteer position will work within the Recreation Bureau to assist staff with the Land and Water Conservation Fund program. The LWCF program provides funding for development of outdoor recreation facilities in communities throughout Montana. The position requires that the individual have excellent communication skills, a good rapport with people and enjoy working with detail. Tasks include typing, filing, and making telephone calls; keeping track of recently performed LWCF site inspections; copying, reviewing, assembling, and filing LWCF site inspection sheets. Volunteers will also make lists of LWCF sites with upcoming inspection dates and call local communities to request and help coordinate "self-inspections."
1 to 2 days per week in 2 hour shifts; would typically not exceed 10 hours per week. Desired start date is January 2010.

This position requires that the individual have excellent communication skills and good rapport with people. Computer skills are needed, along with general office skills such as filing. Attention to detail is a must. Volunteers must provide their own transportation and housing.
