Les Mason State Park

Experience cool, clear waters along a smooth cobble beach on Whitefish Lake. Enjoy shaded picnic tables, great swimming and a spot to launch your canoe or kayak.

About the Park

Les Mason State Park is a peaceful day use park located on the east shore of Whitefish Lake. With 585 feet of sand and gravel lakeshore, this park provides excellent swimming opportunities. Nearby tables provide a beautiful setting for a picnic.

Sea Me Paddle Kayaking Tours, Inc., concessionaire at Whitefish Lake State Park and Les Mason State Park, offers rental equipment, including: stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, and pedal boats. Open daily from June 15 thru Labor Day; hours of operation may vary. Call 406-709-2124 or visit https://www.tourglacier.com/sea-me-paddle.

Day-Use Park

Park is day-use only and open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. during peak season (Memorial Day through Labor Day).

Park is open to foot traffic/walk-in only during winter months.

Fees

Montana Residents

  • Montana residents who pay the $9 state parks fee with their annual vehicle registration have no daily entrance fees to state parks. For residents who don't include this in their vehicle registration, non-resident day use fees apply.

Nonresidents

  • Day use entrance fee with a vehicle: $8

  • Day use entrance fee as a walk-in, bicycle or bus passenger: $4

  • With a Nonresident Entrance Pass: Free

Alerts & Closures

RV's and towed trailers not recommended.

Food Storage Rules: Store all attractants, day or night, in a closed, hard sided container or vehicle when not in immediate use. Tent campers without a vehicle may use available food lockers. Do not burn waste in fire ring or leave litter around camp-site. Dispose of garbage in bear-resistant dumpsters provided.

Meet The Park Manager

Dave Bennetts

Dave Bennetts has worked for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks for over 12 years. Dave graduated from Oregon State University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Forest Recreation Resource Management. He worked seasonally for the National Park Service for more than a dozen years before joining FWP in 2006. Dave is originally from Butte, MT.
