Know Before You Go Avalanche Awareness Present -January 26, 2019 from 4pm to 5pm
(Kalispell, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host the Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center (FOFAC) for a Know Before You Go Avalanche Awareness presentation at Lone Pine State Park on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.

Public Comment Open on Proposed Wastewater System Replacement at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park
(Whitehall, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is seeking public comment on a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for a proposed Wastewater Treatment System Replacement project at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park located near Whitehall, MT. Comments will be accepted through Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 5pm.

Smith River Permit Applications Available January 2
(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that 2019 float permit applications for Smith River State Park will be available Wednesday, January 2 through Thursday, February 14, 2019. The permit drawing will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019.

Bannack State Park Skating Pond Opens
(Dillon, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) invites you to lace up your ice skates and hit the ice at Bannack State Park. The skating pond will be open December 26 through January 1, and every following weekend while ice conditions allow.

Make a Resolution to Health with a First Day Hike -January 1, 2019
(Helena, MT) –Make a New Year’s resolution to health and happiness by kicking off 2019 with an invigorating First Day Hike at a state park near you. On January 1, Montana State Parks will host First Day Hikes at Makoshika State Park, Spring Meadow Lake State Park, Flathead Lake State Park-Wayfarers, Lone Pine State Park, Travelers’ Rest State Park, and Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. These fun and informative guided-hikes are open to all ages and are family friendly.
