2015 Recreational Trails Program (RTP) Federal Grants Available for Trails Projects in Montana - Applications due by Friday, March 6, 2015
(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that federal Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grants will be available for trail projects in Montana. Grant cycle opens Friday, December 19, 2014. Applications due by Friday, March 6, 2015.

Decision Notice Issued for Milltown State Park Forest Health Improvement and Trail Development Project
(Missoula, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that a decision notice has been issued for a forest health improvement and trail development project at Milltown State Park located near Missoula, Montana. The decision notice recommends moving forward with selective removal of trees to improve forest health. Montana State Parks will also proceed with construction of a new trail with interpretive signage.

Mandatory Food Storage Proposed for Smith River State Park -Public comments accepted through Friday, November 21 at 5pm
(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is seeking public comment on proposed mandatory food storage for floaters in Smith River State Park. The food storage change is part of the 2014 Smith River State Park and River Corridor Biennial Rule. The Smith River Biennial Rule sets fees, permit requirements and rules for private, commercial and land-owner float trips on the popular Smith River. Public comments will be accepted through Friday, November 21 at 5pm.

Travelers' Rest State Park Announces Winter Hours
(Lolo, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that winter hours are now in effect for Travelers’ Rest State Park. Under winter hours, the park will be open from 9am to 4pm daily with the museum and visitor center open from 9am to 3:30pmTuesday through Sunday. Winter hours are in effect until Sunday, March 8.

Decision Notice Issued for Eden Bridge Host Site Improvement Project At Smith River State Park
(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that a decision notice has been issued for host pad improvements at Eden Bridge in Smith River State Park near Ulm, MT. The decision is to move forward with improvements to the existing host site area, including the addition of two host pads with associated utilities. By notification of this Decision Notice the Environmental Assessment (EA) is hereby made the Final EA.

(Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today, that a decision notice has been issued for a host site improvement project at Camp Baker in Smith River State Park located near White Sulphur Springs, MT. The decision notice recommends moving forward with development of a host site to accommodate a seasonal volunteer host. By notification of this Decision Notice, the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) is hereby made the Final EA.
