Spring Meadow Lake State Park

Bring your friends and family to this urban-park and outdoor haven for swimming, fishing, bird-watching, hiking and more!

Spring Meadow Lake State Park is located on the western edge of Helena.  It is an urban day-use park and is a popular spot for family afternoons of swimming, sunbathing, fishing, birdwatching, and having fun.

The park features picnic shelters and a pavilion for group use. You can book the pavilion online. The pavilion can be reserved for a half day or full day based on your event.

In addition to the water and beach area, the park offers an .8 mile, self-guided nature trail that circles the lake.

There is no lifeguard on duty at Spring Meadow Lake State Park. Visitors swim at their own risk. Complimentary life jackets, ranging in size from infant to adult, are available to use while visiting the park from Memorial day through Labor day. Play it safe when recreating near water.

NO dogs allowed in the park between April 15 - October 15.

The park is home to a variety of birds, turtles and other wildlife and trout, bass and sunfish have been introduced into its waters. There is a fishing dock that is ADA accessible.

In winter, you can stroll along the trail and if it's cold enough, ice fish and ice skate on the lake. Special events are held periodically during the year.
