Area residents in the know will tell you that the best sunsets on Flathead Lake can be viewed from Wayfarers State Park. The rocky cliffs along the shoreline offer beautiful vistas of the lake at any time of day. Enjoy camping, boating, swimming.

CLOSURES/RESTRICTIONS
Food Storage Rules: Store all attractants, day or night, in a closed, hard sided container or vehicle when not in immediate use. Tent campers without a vehicle may use available food lockers. Do not burn waste in fire ring or leave litter around camp-site. Dispose of garbage in bear-resistant dumpsters provided.

MEET THE PARK MANAGER

Jerry Sawyer manages Wayfarers State Park and the six state parks on Flathead Lake. Prior to that he was a ranger with Colorado State Parks for 4 years, and a seasonal wilderness ranger with the U.S. Forest Service. Jerry is originally from the Midwest and moved to Colorado in his twenties. He earned a B.S. in Geology from Metropolitan State College in Denver and a master’s degree in Recreation Resources at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
