Whitefish Lake


Bring the family to camp and play on the beach. Boating, swimming, water-skiing and fishing are popular activities on this lake with beautiful mountain views.


The main entrance road will be closed for construction over the next two summers. For 2019, construction is proposed to begin July 2019 and run through October 2019. The City of Whitefish will provide a detour for access to the park. For more information visit:

Boating Alert: AIS Off-season rules in effect. The watercraft inspection station is closed for the off-season through 5/1/19. All motorized and non-motorized watercraft may launch in the off-season via the Off-season Online AIS Self-Certification Program.

Food Storage Rules: Store all attractants, day or night, in a closed, hard sided container or vehicle when not in immediate use. Tent campers without a vehicle may use available food lockers. Do not burn waste in fire ring or leave litter around camp-site. Dispose of garbage in bear-resistant dumpsters provided.

Dave Bennetts has worked for MT State Parks for the past 12 years, working as a Park Ranger on Flathead Lake for 4 years, and for the last 8 years as the Park Manager for Les Mason, Logan, Thompson Falls and Whitefish Lake State Parks. He also manages the Thompson Chain of Lakes recreational area. Dave graduated from Oregon State University in 1993 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Forest Recreation Resource Management. He worked seasonally for the National Park Service for more than a dozen years before joining MT State Parks in 2006. Dave is originally from Butte, MT.
